As always, we are putting safety first at Kay School to protect our children and staff. Prior to opening on June 21st, 2021 all staff will go through extensive COVID-19 protocol training. This is in alignment with the requirements set by Governor Northam and VDSS Commissioner Storen.
Are you looking for a summer filled with imagination, friendship, discovery, and plenty of time to invent, create and play? Camp Kay is staffed by dedicated camp counselors are ready to offer children ages 2 ½ to 12 an enriching summer camp experience.
Held in the Barn at Franklin Farm in Herndon, Junior Rangers and Senior Scouts will have the opportunity to explore a variety of engaging activities for your camper.
Camp Kay is sure to enlighten and engage your child. Whether your child is a interested in crawling creatures, earth conservation, history or the outdoors, Camp Kay is your summer solution.
Enrollment: Payment for each week of camp must be made in full by Friday, 4:00 p.m. one week prior to the week registered for.
- Junior Rangers camp is $260 per week.
- Senior Scouts camp is $285 per week.
Withdrawals: Upon registration you are committed to paying the full price of the week/s you registered for regardless of attendance. If Governor Northam and Commissioner Storen orders that camps must close due to COVID-19, a full refund will be granted from the day of closure.

Per Virginia Department of Social Services- Child Care regulation 22VAC40-185-60. We will require proof every child’s identity and age – original birth certificate or original passport are acceptable. Copies will not be accepted.
Summer camp is from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm. Extended day is from 8 am – 6 pm
Summer 2021 Plan!
Kay School is delighted to announce that guest artist Kofi Dennis will be our Program Coordinator for Kay School’s Summer Program! Kofi will also be leading creative drama, storytelling, and music and movement for each of our camps!
Kofi, who is currently leading music/movement classes at Lucy School in Middletown, MD, has also been a Master Teaching Artist with the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts since 1998. As a professional percussionist and storyteller, Kofi provides Arts Integrated classroom residencies in music and creative drama for early childhood educators throughout the region and worldwide.
Kofi also leads teacher professional development workshops locally, nationally, and internationally for educators and others working with young children and families.
Kofi is well known as part of the former duo, Anansegromma, which spotlighted traditional African music, drums rhythms, and storytelling. He teaches traditional djembe drumming and has the unique opportunity of working with juvenile and adult prisoners in area county jails, sharing his talents in storytelling and drum rhythms. Kofi is a graduate of the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, and studied early childhood and adolescent education at Komenda College, University of Cape Coast.
